About Dr. Jacob
Ashok Jacob, MD, is a rheumatologist with Annapolis Rheumatology, a private practice with offices across Maryland and Northern Virginia. He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and is a fellow of both the American College of Rheumatology and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
Dr. Jacob is known in the RPPA community for his willingness to rethink how a practice runs. He hired an AI engineer to build customized tools around his practice's specific workflows, and several of those tools have sparked conversation in the RPPA Facebook group. Alongside his clinical work, he is committed to research and evidence-based medicine and has authored peer-reviewed articles in journals including the New England Journal of Medicine and the American Journal of Medicine.
He earned his medical degree from Medical College, University of Kerala, completed his internal medicine residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, and completed his rheumatology fellowship at the University of Virginia. He served on RPPA's 2025 Steering Committee.
