Job Description:

The ideal candidate will focus on diagnosing and treating various rheumatic diseases, including arthritis, autoimmune disorders, and musculoskeletal conditions. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.


Position Details:

  • Can be rheumatology board-eligible (e.g. obtain certification within 1 year of starting the position)

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history assessments and physical examinations.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as medical imaging and laboratory tests to inform treatment plans.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex conditions.

  • Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.

  • Stay current with advancements in rheumatology and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.

  • Participate in infection control protocols to ensure patient safety during treatments.

  • Utilize electronic health record systems such as Eclicalworks for documentation and patient management.


Experience:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution with completion of a residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Rheumatology.

  • Board certification in Rheumatology is preferred.

  • Experience in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes care or bariatrics is a plus.

  • Familiarity with pathology related to rheumatic diseases and experience in home care settings are advantageous.

  • Proficiency in utilizing medical imaging techniques and understanding radiation therapy principles is beneficial.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment are essential.
