About Dr. Gaylis
Norman B. Gaylis, MD, FACP, MACR, is the founder and president of Arthritis & Rheumatic Disease Specialties in Aventura, Florida, and one of the nation's most recognized community rheumatologists. For four decades, he has cared for patients with rheumatic disease in the greater Miami area while conducting clinical research in his own practice.
Dr. Gaylis is a longtime champion of research in community practice. He was the first practicing rheumatologist to make a $1 million commitment to the Rheumatology Research Foundation, establishing the Norman B. Gaylis, MD, Research Award for Rheumatologists in Community Practice to fund research ideas from practicing physicians. He has served on the boards of the American College of Rheumatology and the Rheumatology Research Foundation.
In 2017, he was named a Master of the American College of Rheumatology, one of the specialty's highest honors. He has presented research at meetings around the world and authored articles on rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and other autoimmune diseases.
